Introducing Ben Nevis - the mountain is an inexpensive full colour booklet published in Fort William and provides an insight into the mountain with lots of colourful pictures.

Ben Nevis Observatory
Not many people know this, but there used to be a meteorological observatory on the summit of the mountain. Volunteer students would man the observatory for up to one month at a time to record the weather every hour. The results were telegraphed to the town below, where they were used to warn shipping of storms and gales in the Atlantic. Ben Nevis Observatory 1883-1904 is available from the Royal Meteorological Society.
