Visit Ballachulish
Ballachulish lies just north of Glencoe village, by the shore of Loch
Leven and surrounded by mountains. The village is famous for its slate
quarry which produced hand-made roof slates to markets all around the
world. Now closed, the village's exhibition tells the unique story of
the men who worked there.

North Ballachulish is on the north shore of Loch Leven, as you cross
the Ballachulish road bridge, which spans the narrows of Loch Leven/Loch
Linnhe. This is where the old ferry provided access to either shore,
with an alternative scenic drive around Loch Leven, via Kinlochleven.
The drive today is both peaceful and enjoyable with many picnic spots
and
great views. Bishop's Bay on the north shore of Loch Leven, on the Kinlochleven
road is a natural haven for yachts.
Ballachulish now boasts a beautiful, 9 hole golf course with absolutely
specacular mountains forming a backdrop to the fairways and greens.
